The Press Hotel is the former location of the Portland Press Herald and their design celebrates their historical roots. Starting with the outdoor sign, which looks like typewriter keys, the hotel pays homage to words and letters. Letterpress wood blocks are used as decorative elements and for directional signage. Wallpaper and carpets are filled with phrases and letters - often overlapping or scattered across broad surfaces. I especially love the wall of typewriters!
